Definition The expenditure for the purchase of food includes the amounts paid to commercial units or private traders for the purchase of food products, irrespective of the destination of the products (human consumption, livestock and poultry feeding, storing, processing, gifts, etc.).

Methodology Monthly average of total consumption expenditures per household for purchase agro-foods products is obtained by reporting the amounts spent by sampled household for each product or total food products at total number of households.
Expenditures are determined at current prices of each period

Observations Data source is given by Households integrated survey (HIS), deployed in 1997-2000 period. 
Interruption Last period of this series: Year 2000. After this period, the series continue with the BUF114I matrix
