AED106A - Participation rate of employed population in non-formal job-related and sponsored by employer education, job characteristics |
Definition |
Non-formal education refers to any institutionalized, intentional and planned learning activity organized by a vocational education or training provider. The defining feature of this form of education is that it either complements and develops the knowledge, skills and competences acquired through the national education system, or is an alternative to it. Educational activities for professional purposes are those educational activities pursued with the aim of acquiring knowledge and skills necessary for practicing the profession in the current workplace or a future workplace and improving career opportunities. Employer-sponsored educational activities are educational activities with a professional purpose, for which either the costs of participation were paid in whole or in part by the employer (or potential employer) or the respective activities were carried out during paid working hours. |
