Methodology |
The main purpose - obtaining data on cultivated area and crop production for the main crops
Sampling units - individual holdings and legal units utilising agricultural area
Recording type - self-recorded for legal units and face-to-face interview for individual agricultural holdings
Recording period - 1 - 30 November of current year
The sample of survey was designed on a stratified sampling frame by county, legal status, and size class of the utilised agricultural area; the size of sample is of approx. 64,000 holdings
Sample allocation - the optimal Neyman sample allocation depends on agricultural area of interest on strata having the following characteristics: residential counties, counties where the agricultural areas are located, legal status of the agricultural holding and size classes of the agricultural area.

For 1990-1999 Bucharest municipality including Ilfov county. In 1990 the private sector is only represented by the individual agricultural holdings.
