The fruit production represents the total fruit quantity of fruit from bearing orchards and sparse fruit trees fruit schrubbery and strawberries on the cultivated area and kitchen gardens included. |

Methodology |
The data about the fruit production are registered by main fruit tree species cultivated in the orchards and the sparse trees/kitchen gardens (apple tree, pear tree, plum tree, cherry tree, sour cherry tree, apricot tree, common apricot tree, pear tree, nut tree, strawberries, other less-cultivated fruit trees: almond tree, hazel tree, medlar tree, fig tree, edible chestnut tree and berry plantations.
The fruit trees in bearing are orchard trees which bear fruit 3-7 years after being planted; these include the fruit trees grafted to various stocks under various fruit tree cultivation and management systems with different densities and productions from 8-15 t/ha for stone fruits (prunes, peaches) to 20-25 t/ha for seed fruit (apples, pears) and 40-100 t/ha in the intensive and superintensive plantations, as well as the production of the "sparse" fruit trees in the cultivated area/kitchen gardens; the fruit production of "other fruit trees" includes the fruit production of berry plantations. |

Observations |
For 1990-1999 Bucharest municipality including localities of Ilfov county. The number and name of localities are in accordance with administrative territorial structure updated for current year. Since 2004 the series was interrupted; the data obtained from the crop production survey for the main crops are only representative at county level. |
