Definition Afforestation represents all works done for planting of seedlings or sowing a land area in order to create new forest trees, both on forest lands that has been exploited mature stand and on lands without forest vegetation.

Methodology Exhaustive statistical survey which uses a combination between statistical sources and administrative data is adressed to forestry units having activities included in NACE under 021 group (Sylviculture and other forestry activities).
