From a material perspective, production in construction comprises construction, installation and equipment erection works, by processing or including in investment objectives or capital repairs some material resources consisting in labour force or services; from a financial perspective, it represents their equivalent value. Works can be executed on the basis of a contract or with own forces.
The services provided in the construction field represent the value of maintenance and current repair works performed on the existing buildings and constructions. The value of construction works (production and services provided) refers to the value of the estimate items received and accepted by the beneficiary on making the payment. For the works executed with own forces, the value of construction works equals the sum of expenditure materialised into works.
The value of construction works represents all the works included in the execution projects fully or partially carried out, accepted by the beneficiary on making the payment and valued in current prices.
The construction works executed with own forces are those carried out with own forces by economic and social units, benefitting from investments or capital repairs, maintenance and capital repair works performed on the existing buildings and constructions; the works executed by the population with own forces, for dwellings and household constructions, are also included.
Current maintenance and repair works represent all the operations performed on an existing building in order to ensure the continuity in using it, prevent its quick wear and tear and prolongue its duration of functioning. |

Between 1990-1997 there are no available data due to the fact that the collection of statistical information for the two types of property ( majority state, majority private) has been realized from the year 1998.
Data for the years 2005-2007 are recalculated ; there are included economic operator activities, public administration and various activities.
Data for the year 2008 are available for CANE Rev.1, as well as CANE Rev.2.
Since 2011 the data are available only for total due the dominance of major private sector in total economy and statistical confidentiality cases.
