Definition |
Macroeconomic aggregates - it is synthetic values that measure the outcome of the total economy activity from a particular perspective (e.g. of the production, value added, disposable income, final consumption, etc.).
Gross Domestic Product (GDP) - the main macroeconomic aggregate of national accounting, represents the final result of the production activity of the resident producer units. It is equal to the sum of gross values added of various institutional sectors or of different sectors of activity, to which the taxes are added and and the subsidies on products subtracted (which are not allocated to sectors and industries). It also represents the balance of the total economy production account.
Gross disposable income measures the income of the nation intended for final consumption and gross saving.
Actual final consumption consists of the goods or services that are purchased by resident institutional units for directly meeting of human needs, whether individual or collective.
Households actual individual final consumption consists of: households expenditure on purchasing goods and services in order to directly meet the individual needs of resident households members, government expenditure for individual consumption (medical products, appliances and equipment, outpatient services, hospital services, public health services; recreational and sporting services, cultural services; education, family and children, unemployment, housing, social exclusion) and NPISH expenditure for individual consumption.
Net lending or net borrowing represents the net resources that total economy made available to the rest of the world (if it is positive) or receives from the rest of the world (if it is negative). |

Observations |
The data are available starting with 1995.
For the 2002 - 2023 period, the usual resident population on July 1st of each year was used.
The data on the annual series of GDP and its components have been revised in accordance with the requirements of the HERP (Harmonized European Review Policy) for the period 2007-2022.
