COV105C - Average useful floor per person by ownership's dwelling status |
Definition |
The average useful floor space per person is calculated as the ratio of the total useful floor space to the total number of persons.
The useful floor space of dwellings is obtained by subtracting the area occupied by walls from the unfolded built area.
The useful floor space of dwellings is the sum of all useful areas of the rooms.
It includes: the areas of living rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, WC, showers, kitchens, storage and circulating areas inside the dwelling.
The area occupied by walls is calculated by summing up the horizontal projections of the sections of the walls, panels, interior and exterior columns, based on the thickness of the walls.
The unfolded built area of the dwelling is the sum of horizontal section areas of all levels of the building (basement, ground floor, floors and attics, excluding the circulating and non-circulating garrets) delimited by the outside contour of external walls.
The areas corresponding to outside steps, uncovered terraces, inner or outer courts for light or access bigger than 4 sq m, technical basements are not included. |
