Definition The average gross earnings in October represents the gross amounts from the salary fund, the net profit and from other funds of the unit paid to a employee who worked full-time the whole month by economic activities and occupations or major group of occupations.

Data sources Statistical survey on salaries in October details 
Methodology The average gross earnings in October comprise:
- the amount for the average gross salary earned and the amount for the overtime performed in the reference month;
- the amount from the net profit;
- the amount from other funds;
The amounts paid from the social security fund are excluded.
Data obtained were aggregated by the main activity of units according to the Classification of Activities of the National Economy CANE Rev.1, harmonized with the European classification in the field (NACE Rev. 1) and the Classification of Occupations in Romania (COR) harmonized with the European clasification in the field (ISCO - COM - 88).

Observations The data are available starting 2005, for the previous period they weren't collected.
For 2006 data are not available because every four years, according to European regulations, is conducted the Structure of earnings survey (SES) that provides information on earnings by occupation in October (for units with more than 10 employees).
 
Interruption Last period of this series: Year 2007. After this period, the series continue with the FOM119C matrix
