Definition The average gross earnings in October represents the gross amounts from the salary fund, the net profit and from other funds of the unit paid to a employee who worked full-time the whole month by economic activities and occupations or major group of occupations.

Methodology The average gross earnings in October comprise:
- the amount for the average gross salary earned and the amount for the overtime performed in the reference month;
- the amount from the net profit;
- the amount from other funds;
The amounts paid from the social security fund are excluded.
From 2008 onwards the data obtained were aggregated by the main activity of units according to the Classification of Activities of the National Economy CANE Rev.2, implemented at national level starting from 01.01.2008 according to the Order of the President of NIS no. 337/2007, published in the Official Journal of Romania no. 293 from 03.05.2007 and the Classification of Occupations in Romania (COR) harmonized with the European clasification in the field (ISCO - COM - 88).

Observations The activity PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION AND DEFENCE; SOCIAL INSURANCE OF PUBLIC SECTOR excludes armed forces and assimilated.

The data are available according to CANE Rev.2 starting 2008. For the period 2005 - 2007 data according to CANE Rev.1 are found in the matrices FOM119A and FOM119B. 
Interruption Last period of this series: Year 2009. After this period, the series continue with the FOM119C matrix
Continuation This matrix represents a continuation of the FOM119A matrix, containing data up to Year 2007.
