Important!
· Please hold Shift or Ctrl keys while clicking the dimension elements to obtain a multiple selection.
· Use the three buttons below each dimension to ease your selection: Expand, Collapse and Select All
· The measuring units are all selected by default, to prevent empty results when combining uncompatible requests (for example, one may ask for production of corn measured in liters; or a value in ROL after the denomination in 2005). You are free to modify the selection, just be careful. Thank you!
IAPC101 - Harmonised indices of consumer prices by groups of goods and services according to the ECOICOP classification - monthly evolution - 2015=100
Definition The Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) is a set of EU consumer price indices calculated according to a harmonised approach and a single set of definitions.
The HICP has mainly been conceived to assess price stability in the euro area and price convergence in the EU, but also for comparisons of inflation at European level.

Data sources Statistical survey on consumer prices (HICP) details
Methodology The harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP) measures the changes in the evolution of the prices and tariffs of goods and services that occurred on Romanian territory.
The 'domestic' principle is used to build the HICP, taking into account the consumption of all the households on national territory, regardless of nationality, residential or social status, except foreign embassies on Romanian territory.
The harmonised index of consumer prices is annually chain-linked Laspeyres - type index.
The harmonised index of consumer prices is determined by succesive aggregations, based on prices/tariffs registered for goods which are included in Household final monetary consumption expenditure.
Harmonised indices of consumer prices calculated for each assortment (based on geometrical mean of indices at variety level) are aggregated at the level of ECOICOP groups of goods and services and at the level of general index, by applying weights compiled according to the requirements of Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/1148.
The index is calculated and published against the average of the year 2015 (2015=100).
This reference period of the index is used for the complete time series of all HICP indices and sub-indices, according to Regulation (EU) 2016/792.
Last update SEP 11, 2024
Observations Harmonised indices of consumer prices with harmonised coverage and methodology have been published since January 2017.
