Definition |
New orders in industry represent the value of contracts from the reference month between a producer and a customer and refer to the deliveries of goods and services related to the producer, no matter the period when they are to be honored. The Nomenclature of economic operators is used in order to collect turnover from industry, for economic operators from the manufacturing working based on orders (CANE Rev.2 divisions: 13, 14, 17, 20, 21, 24-30). |

Methodology |
The weights are calculated based on the turnover, according to the results of the Structural Survey in companies from the base year (2000). New orders index per total (domestic and non-domestic market) is calculated as the weighed mean between the new orders index on domestic market and the new orders index on nondomestic market, by each aggregation level of industry. The new orders index are Laspeyres type and are calculated according to Council regulation 1165/1998 ammended by EP Regulation 1158/2005 for short term business statistics. |

Coverage: The statistical survey on new orders in industry is a monthly survey which is referring to legal units which have the main activity in classes 17, 18, 21, 24, 27-29, 31-35 of CANE Rev.1. Data sources: The statistical survey' IND CA' for years 2000-2004 and Statistical survey regarding short term indicators in industry IND TS chapter CN starting with 2005 . Statistical survey realized according to Eurostat recomandations begining with the year 2000. |
