Methodology |
Consumer price index is calculated only for the elements entering the population direct consumption, excluding: consumption from own resources, expenditures with investment and accumulation character, interests paid for credits, insurance rates, fines, taxes a.s.o., as well as expenditures for work payment within agricultural production of individual households.
Consumer price index is calculated as a fixed base index of Laspeyres type.
Consumer price index is determined by succesive aggregations, based on prices/tariffs registered for goods which are subject to population direct consumption.
Price indices calculated for each assortment (based on geometrical mean of indices at variety level) are aggregated at the level of item expenditure, of groups of goods and services and at the level of general index, by applying constant weights corresponding to (t-2) base year.
Constant weights allow to measure the evolution of prices over time, avoiding the influence of structural changes.

Observations |
The date are available starting with 2001, and the weighting system is update annually.
The series for previous years have been recalculated only by total and by main groups of goods and services (food, non-food and services) and are available in the matrix IPC102B.
For structure presented in the Price Statistical Bulletin there was not possible to assure the continuity of data series due to the different structure and nomenclature changes. |
