Important!
· Please hold Shift or Ctrl keys while clicking the dimension elements to obtain a multiple selection.
· Use the three buttons below each dimension to ease your selection: Expand, Collapse and Select All
· The measuring units are all selected by default, to prevent empty results when combining uncompatible requests (for example, one may ask for production of corn measured in liters; or a value in ROL after the denomination in 2005). You are free to modify the selection, just be careful. Thank you!
IPC102E - Consumer price indices by main goods and services - monthly evolution as against corresponding month of previous year
Definition Consumer price index (CPI) measures the overall evolution of prices for purchased goods and tariffs of services used by the population during a certain period (current period), as against a previous period (base or reference period).
Consumer price index is calculated only for the elements entering the population direct consumption, excluding: consumption from own resources, expenditures with investment and accumulation character, interests paid for credits, insurance rates, fines, taxes a.s.o., as well as expenditures for work payment within agricultural production of individual households.

Methodology Consumer price index is calculated only for the elements entering the population direct consumption, excluding: consumption from own resources, expenditures with investment and accumulation character, interests paid for credits, insurance rates, fines, taxes a.s.o., as well as expenditures for work payment within agricultural production of individual households.
Consumer price index is calculated as a fixed base index of Laspeyres type.
Consumer price index is determined by succesive aggregations, based on prices/tariffs registered for goods which are subject to population direct consumption.
Price indices calculated for each assortment (based on geometrical mean of indices at variety level) are aggregated at the level of item expenditure, of groups of goods and services and at the level of general index, by applying constant weights corresponding to (t-2) base year.
Constant weights allow to measure the evolution of prices over time, avoiding the influence of structural changes.
Last update SEP 11, 2024
Observations The date are available starting with 2001, and the weighting system is update annually.
Data is not available for the period 1991-2000 due to the fact that the series is being recalculated starting from matrix IPC102C.
