| Observations |
The population by domicile on 1 July of the reference year represents the number of persons with Romanian citizenship and domicile on the Romanian territory, delimited according to administrative-territorial criteria. Usually resident population represents all persons of Romanian nationality, foreigners and stateless persons, who have their usual residence in Romania. For the period 2003-2011 the rates were calculated with the population by domicile, on 1 July. For the period 2012-2024 the rates were calculated with the usually resident population on 1 July. Starting with 2003, Ilfov county was included in the data series of the Bucharest-Ilfov region.
