Observations |
The number of crimes investigated and solved by the police is grouped depending on the police unit that was notified and which declines its jurisdiction or by the territorial jurisdiction of the courts, as provided for in Article 41 of the Criminal Procedure Code. Offences declined to the Prosecutor's Office refer to the offences in the files sent to the Prosecutor's Offices units, based on the material jurisdiction or the suitability of the person, regarding the criminal acts for which the prosecution is carried out on a mandatory basis by the prosecutor (Article 56, par. 3 and 4 of the Code of the Criminal Procedure Code). Offences declined to the Prosecutor's Office are statistically quantified by the police unit that registers or receives the document instituting the proceedings. The offences solved by the police are statistically quantified by the police unit that investigated and solved the file. The territorial jurisdiction of the police units for investigating the offences shall be determined in accordance with Article 61, par. 1 in relation to Article 41, both in the Code of Criminal Procedure, and is determined in the following order: a) the place where the offence was committed; b) the place where the suspect or defendant was caught; c) the housing of the suspect or defendant natural person or, where applicable, the head office of the defendant legal person, at the time when the act was committed; d) the housing or, where applicable, the head office of the injured party.
