Observations |
The working age are:
For 1990, until 2000, 16-54 years old for women and 16- 59 years for man;
For 2001, until 2009, 16-57 years old for women and 16- 62 years for man;
For 2010 - 16-58 years old for women and 16- 63 years for man;
For 2011-2014 - 16-59 years old for women and 16- 64 years for man.
Population on January 1 was calculated by the components method using administrative sources for external migration. These sources do not cover the entire phenomenon of migration, especialy the emigration flows from Romania. As such, there is a severe underestimate of the phenomenon which leads to an overstatement of the Romanian population.
Data presented for the period 2003-2014 are provisional, the number of population for the time series to the previous census will be recalculated.
Data on the ''Population in Romania, by localities, on 1st January 2014'' are provisional and are obtained through the components method, based on the data from administrative sources. For a correct data interpretation the following should be taken into account:
- definitively international emigration refers only to data provided by the Passports General Directorate (within the Ministry of Interior), respectively the number of persons who definitively left Romania and settled their domicile on other countries territory;
- due to unavailability of data from administrative sources, the balance of the international migration movement does not includes the number of persons who settled their domicile in Romania (immigrants). |
