Important!
· Please hold Shift or Ctrl keys while clicking the dimension elements to obtain a multiple selection.
· Use the three buttons below each dimension to ease your selection: Expand, Collapse and Select All
· The measuring units are all selected by default, to prevent empty results when combining uncompatible requests (for example, one may ask for production of corn measured in liters; or a value in ROL after the denomination in 2005). You are free to modify the selection, just be careful. Thank you!
POP203C - Fertility rate for live-born with usual residence in Romania by mother's age and development regions
Definition General fertility rate is the ratio between the number of live-births in a year and the female population aged 15 to 49 years at the 1st of July from the current statistics of the respective year, and is expressed by the number of live-births by 1000 women of fertile age (15 to 49 years).
Total fertility rate is calculated both for the whole fertile contingency and for five-year groups.
Periodicity Annual
Data sources Statistical survey on birth rate details
Methodology General fertility rate for live-births having their usual residence in Romania is computed from the live-births (whose mothers have their usual residence in Romania) number per 1000 women aged 15 to 45 years old having their usual residence in Romania.
Last update APR 23, 2024
Observations The starting year for the data series is 2012.
For 2012 and 2013 were included only those live-births that occurred in Romania, regardless of the country of usual residence, whose mothers had, at birth, their permanent residence in Romania, and their territorial breakdown was carried out by the mother's permanent residence.
Beginning with 2014 in the calculation of this indicator were included only the live births whose mothers had their usual residence in Romania and whose birth was recorded at Civil Status Offices in Romania.
Usual residence means the place at which a person normally spends the daily period of rest, regardless of temporary absences for purposes of recreation, holiday, visits to friends and relatives, business, medical treatment or religious pilgrimage or, in default, the place of legal or registered residence.
Usual residence can be the same with the permanent residence, or might be different for those persons that choose to settle their usual residence in another locality than the permanent residence one.
In order to compute the fertility rate, the usual female resident population (15-49 years) at July 1st was used.
Usual resident population represents all persons of Romanian nationality, foreign or stateless who have their usual residence in Romania.
The statistical data are constantly revised, according to the Revision Policy of NIS.
Thus, the data for 2020 have been modified and are of ""revised"".
Data prior to 2020 will not be revised.
The revised data on vital events (live-births ) for the year T represents the absolute final data related to vital events (live-births) recorded in year T, to which were added vital events (live-births) belatedly recorded in years (T+1), (T+2) and the first four months of (T+3), but that occurred in year T.
