| Methodology |
Between 1990-1997:
The average prices are calculated as the weighted arithmetic mean of the prices recorded on a 10-day basis, at product/market (locality) level. The weights are the quantities of products sold on a 10-day basis, at product/market (locality) level.
Between 1998-2003:
The average prices are calculated as the weighted arithmetic mean of the prices recorded on a 10-day basis, at product/market (locality) level. The weights are the average of the quantities sold on a 10-day basis during the 1995-1997 period, at product/market (locality) level.
Starting with 2004:
The average prices at product/locality level are calculated as the simple arithmetic mean of the prices recorded weekly, at assortment /product)/market (locality) level. The average prices at product/country level are calculated as a weighted arithmetic mean. The weights are calculated at county level based on the crop and animal production so: for the years 2004-2007 based on data from 2001, for the years 2008-2012 based on data from 2005, for the years 2013-2017 based on 2010 data, for the years 2018 - 2023 based on the data from 2015, for the years 2024 - currently based on the average data from 2019 - 2021. |

For the period 1990 - 1996, the prices of the product carrots refer to carrots and parsley and parsnip roots.
Starting with 2004:
- the product wheat was excluded from the statistical survey on the prices of agricultural products in agro-food markets and fairs;
- the prices of the product barley - two-row barley refer to barley.
- the prices for Santandrei locality are refering to the Palota locality
In 2004, data are missing for the barley product (not included in the statistical research).
At the product''Nuts'':
- average price / county is expressed in lei / kg shell nuts
- average price / locality is expressed in lei / kg unshelled nuts. The coeficient of transformation unshelled nuts in shell nuts is = 0.25.
Starting with 2005, the data are expressed in RON.
The number and name of localities are in accordance with administrative territorial structure updated for current year.
Starting from July 2023, prices will no longer be collected from the fairs. |
