| Methodology |
The statistical survey on the prices of agricultural products is aimed at obtaining the selling prices set by agricultural producers, at farm gate.
The average purchase prices of agricultural products are calculated as the weighted arithmetic mean of the prices recorded at channel level (processors/traders/agricultural trading companies). The weights are calculated at county level based on the crop and animal production so: for the years 2004-2007 based on data from 2001, for the years 2008-2012 based on data from 2005, for the years 2013-2017 based on 2010 data, for the years 2018 - 2023 based on the data from 2015, for the years 2024 - currently based on the average data from 2019 - 2021.
Prices have the following characteristics: they reflect the first marketing stage (direct purchases from agricultural producers), they do not include transport or storage costs, etc., they do not include subventions on products nor VAT.
In 2004, oats were not comprised in the statistical survey.

For the products wheat, barley and two-row barley, barley, two-row barley, maize grains, sunflower, soya, fresh cow milk, fresh ewe milk, prices are expressed in RON / standard unit of measure.
In 2004, there are no data for long (red) pepper.
Starting with 2005, data are expressed in Romanian lei (RON).
The matrix follow after matrix PPA102B, but data can't be considered as a homogeneous series due to the methodological differences referring to:
- the feature of price surveyed
- the structure of product and economic nomenclatures
- the feature of products
- the calculation method used for computing the average prices
The statistical servey for the prices of agricultural products has been implemented in the year 2004. |
