Definition |
The ratio between the upper and lower quintiles, S80/S20, estimates how many times the disposable income per equivalent adult obtained by all individuals in the 5th quintile (the wealthiest) exceeds the income obtained by individuals in the 1st quintile (the poorest) of the population distribution by disposable income per equivalent adult. Working-age individuals are defined as those aged 18-64 who are not dependent children or inactive. This indicator is also referred to as the "Income Inequality Index". |

Observations |
Data are available starting with 2008. In the period 2008-2014 have been recalculated social inclusion indicators from the survey on the quality of life (ACAV). These indicators recalculation was made by calculation of the coefficients of expansion based on resident population from Population and Housing Census 2011. |
