Observations |
For special needs primary and secondary education in 1990, 1991, and 1992, data by sex (8th grade graduates) are not available.
Data for tertiary education are provided by the place (locality) of each faculty.
Data on short cycle tertiary education are no longer available as of the year 2011 (2011/2012 academic year), due to the fact that the said study program stopped being organized in Romania's education system. Consequently, from 2011 to 2013, data on students enrolled in Bachelor's degree programs - total and foreign students - equals that of long cycle tertiary education students - total and foreign students.
From tertiary education, as of the academic year 2014/2015, data on graduates refer to the number of graduates who have been awarded a tertiary education degree (i.e. Bachelor degree, Master's degree, PhD degree and advanced research postdoctoral programmes).
Starting with 2018 (academic year 2018/2019), the educational level Tertiary education - doctoral and postdoctoral programs will have the following name: Tertiary education - doctoral and advanced research postdoctoral programmes.
Data on tertiary education - Bachelor studies (until 2013) refer only to the Bachelor studies graduates.
Bachelor studies graduates are those students who have passed the last academic year of a certain faculty, whether or not they have passed the Bachelor's degree examination.
The number of graduates refers to the end of the academic year (after the autumn second examination).
Data on students enrolled in short and long cycle tertiary education - total and foreign students - are available as of the year 2003.
