SCL113A - Abandon rate in pre-university education, by development regions and counties 
Definition School dropout rate is the difference between the number of students enrolled in the beginning of the school year and the number of students registered at the end of the same year, as percentage in the number of students enrolled in the beginning of the school year.

Data sources Statistical surveys carried out at the end of school year (academic year) in educational units:
3.Primary (ISCED level 1) and secondary (ISCED level 2) education details
5.High school education (ISCED level 3)details
6.Vocational education (ISCED level 3) and post high school education (ISCED level 4) details 
Methodology The education level according to the International Classification of Educational Standards - ISCED 97 (until 2013) / ISCED 2011 (after 2013). 
Last update AUG 06, 2024 
Observations Data are available starting 2010.
Missing values are due to the increase in the number of pupils at the end of the school year compared to the beginning of the same school year.
School dropout rate for primary and secondary education is excluded special education.
School dropout rate for 2010 vocational education (school year 2010/2011) is high due to legislative amendments. This is also the reason for which this indicator is going to reflect both the vocational and upper secondary education, cumulatively, for the next years.
