Definition The indicator measures the number of research-development agricultural projects and the total expenditures related to these projects according to the NABS Nomenclature.

Methodology The research-development project - the way to achieve a goal of a program, with its own well-established goal, which is expected to be achieved in a given period using the allocated resources and to which is attached its own set of rules, objectives and activities.
The total expenses for research-development activity include all the expenses (current and capital) made for the research-development activity regardless of the source of financing.

Observations Both the number of projects according to the structure of the NABS nomenclature and the total expenditure for the research-development activity are the main indicators of this activity. NABS programs cover all economic departments, the agriculture being just one of them.
