Definition |
The traditional product represents the food product manufactured on the national territory and for which local raw materials are used; which does not contain food additives; which presents a traditional recipe; a method of production and / or processing and a traditional technological process which is distinguished from other similar products belonging to the same category. At European level, quality systems are divided into three categories: products with a protected designation of origin, a protected geographical indication and guaranteed traditional specialties. The indicator measures the target, because it determines the increase of the number of producers (associations) of such products, the economic development of the area through the use of specific products, the national and international recognition, the extension of the products on the national and international market. |

Observations |
Starting with June 23, 2020, according to Order no. 112/904/208/2020 on the amendment and completion of the Order of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Minister of Health and the President of the National Authority for Consumer Protection no. 724/1.082/360/2013 on the certification of traditional products, the replacement, by 31.12.2020, of the certificates assigned to producers until the date of entry into force of this new regulation was imposed. Therefore, for the indicator Products certified at national level (traditional), the data for 2020 represent the total number of certificates issued in 2020 and certificates for the years 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and up to June 22, 2020, exchanged by the legal deadline.
