Definition |
Berries are small, round, brightly colored fruits, sweet or sour, with seeds and edibles. Among the most common berries are rasp-berries, blueberries, blackberries, currants. The production of me-dicinal plants, aromatics, spices represents the physical (gross) production obtained in a determined period of time, expressed in physical units of measurement (tons). The measurement of the target by the indicator results from the direct connection between the production of these vegetal com-ponents and the maintenance of the occupations and the tradi-tional methods of their capitalization. |

Methodology |
Exhaustive statistical survey which uses a combination between statistical sources and administrative data is adressed to forestry units having activities included in NACE under 021 groupe (Sylviculture and other forestry activities). The main purpose - obtaining data on cultivated area and crop production on the main crops Sampling units - individual holdings and legal units utilising agricultural areas Recording type - self-recorded for legal units and by face-to-face interview for individual holdings Recording period - 1 - 30 November of current year The sample of survey was designed on a stratified sampling frame by county, legal status, and size class of utilised agriculture area; the size of sample is of approx. 64,000 holdings Sample allocation - the optimal Neyman sample allocation depends on the agricultural area of interest on strata having the following characteristics: residential counties, counties where the agricultural areas are located, legal status of the agricultural area and size classes of the agricultural area. |
