Observations |
Until 2011, the deceased who were domiciled in Romania were included, respectively the live births whose mothers were domiciled in Romania on the date of birth and whose birth was registered at the Civil Status Offices in Romania.
Starting from 2012, only deceased persons who had their usual residence in Romania are included, and live births whose mothers had their usual residence in Romania on the date of birth and whose birth was registered at the Civil Status Offices in Romania.
Usual residence is the place where a person normally spends his daily rest period, without taking into account temporary absences for recreation, holidays, visits to friends and relatives, business, medical treatment or religious pilgrimage.
The statistical data are constantly revised, according to the Revision Policy of NIS.
Thus, the data for 2020 have been modified and are of "revised".
Data prior to 2020 will not be revised.
The revised data on the demographic phenomena (births and deaths) re-lated to the months of the year T represent the absolute, definitive data related to the demographic phenomena (births and deaths) recorded in the year T, to which the phenomena (births and deaths) recorded late in the years T were added +1, T+2 and the first four months of the year T+3 but which happened in the year T.
