Important!
· Please hold Shift or Ctrl keys while clicking the dimension elements to obtain a multiple selection.
· Use the three buttons below each dimension to ease your selection: Expand, Collapse and Select All
· The measuring units are all selected by default, to prevent empty results when combining uncompatible requests (for example, one may ask for production of corn measured in liters; or a value in ROL after the denomination in 2005). You are free to modify the selection, just be careful. Thank you!
TDI0385 - Target 8 - Social - MORTALITY RATE DUE TO ACCIDENTAL POISONING BY OR EXPOSURE TO HARMFUL SUBSTANCES
Definition The number of people who died due to accidental poisoning by or exposure to harmful substances in the reference year compared to the population of that year and is expressed in the number of deaths due to accidental poisoning by or exposure to harmful sub-stances per 100,000 inhabitants.
Periodicity Annual
Data sources NIS: Legally resident population of Romania (on January 1 and July 1)
NIS: Statistical survey on mortality
NIS: Usually resident population of Romania (on January 1 and July 1)
Methodology The causes of death correspond to the International Classification of Diseas-es - 10th O.M.S. Revision starting with 1994.
Last update MAR 07, 2024
Observations Until 2011, the number of the deceased included those who lived in Romania.
Starting with 2012, only deceased persons with their habitual residence in Romania are included.
Usual residence is the place where a person normally spends his daily rest period, without taking into account temporary absences for recreation, holidays, visits to friends and relatives, business, medical treatment or religious pilgrimage.
The following categories of persons are considered to have their habitual residence in Romania:
- persons who have lived at the address of their habitual residence for an uninterrupted period of at least 12 months before the reference date or
- persons who settled at their habitual residence less than 12 months before the reference date, with the intention of staying for at least one year.
Statistical data are constantly revised, according to the INS data revision policy.
Thus, the data related to 2020 have been modified and are of the "revised" type.
Data prior to 2020 will no longer be reviewed.
The revised data on the de-mographic phenomena (deaths) related to the months of the year T repre-sent the absolute, definitive data related to the demographic phenomena (deaths) recorded in the year T, to which the phenomena (deaths) recorded late in the years T+1, T+2 were added and the first four months of the year T+3 but which happened in the year T.
