Important!
· Please hold Shift or Ctrl keys while clicking the dimension elements to obtain a multiple selection.
· Use the three buttons below each dimension to ease your selection: Expand, Collapse and Select All
· The measuring units are all selected by default, to prevent empty results when combining uncompatible requests (for example, one may ask for production of corn measured in liters; or a value in ROL after the denomination in 2005). You are free to modify the selection, just be careful. Thank you!
TEY0492 - Target 9 - Social - Adult participation in learning, by sex
Definition The indicator represents the degree of participation in the educational or training process of people aged 25 to 64 and is determined as a ratio between the population aged 25-64 who follow a form of training (formal and/or non-formal education activity) in the last four weeks prior to the interview, to the total population aged 25-64, expressed as a percentage.
SDG 4 Quality education: The indicator directly measures the implementation of target 4.9 on substantially increasing the number of youth and adults with relevant skills, including technical and vocational skills, so as to encourage employment, the creation of decent jobs and entrepreneurship.
This indicator practically shows the share of people aged 25-64 who participated in a form of education and professional training (in a reference period) in the total number of people of the same age, expressed as a percentage.
Periodicity Annual
Data sources Household labour force statistical survey - AMIGO
Methodology The number of people aged 25-64 who follow a form of training in the last four weeks prior to the interview is divided by the total population aged 25-64 and is multiplied by 100.
Last update JUL 08, 2024
Observations Since 2015:
- the volume of the sample increased to 28512 dwellings / quarter (compared to 28080 dwellings / quarter in the period 2004-2014);
- the sampling fraction is approximately 0.38%;
- the number of research centers and, respectively, of the interview operators is 792 (compared to 780 in the period 2004-2014).
A new framework regulation on European statistics on persons and households, based on individual data collected from samples (Regulation (EU) 2019/1700 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 10 October 2019) has entered into force in 2021.
This, together with the delegated and implementing regulations issued in its application, constitutes the new legal basis of the Labour Force Survey - AMIGO (Labour Force Survey - LFS) .
These legislative changes have brought about a number of important methodological changes aimed at improving the comparability of results between EU Member States (a new definition of employment, a change in the method of collection, a standardized questionnaire used to collect data, etc.).
Major revisions of survey definitions were done in 2002 and 2021. Thus data, beginning with 2021, are not comparable with those published for previous periods.
