Data sources |
Eurostat: European Health Interview Survey (EHIS) for 2008, 2014 and 2019 and European Survey on Income and Living Conditions (EU-SILC) for 2017. |
Methodology |
In Romania, both surveys are conducted by the National Institute of Statistics. In 2008, the health survey was not carried out on the basis of a European regulation. Since 2014, the health population survey was carried out in accordance with the provisions of EC Regulation No 1338/2008 regarding the Community statistics on public health and health and safety at work and on the European regulations implementing EU Regulation No 1338/2008 (Commission Regulation (EU) No141/2013 as regards statistics based on the European Health Interview Survey (EHIS)) - for the 2014 Health Survey and the Commission Regulation (EU) 2018/255 as regards statistics based on the European Health Interview Survey (EHIS) for the 2019 Health Survey). The methodology for calculating the indicators was developed at European level and was used for the 2019 Health Survey. The small differences between the rates calculated by Eurostat and the rates calculated at national level for the years 2008 and 2014 are mainly due to using the weighting factor with a different number of decimals.
The European Survey on Income and Living Conditions (EU-SILC) for 2017 was conducted based on the regulation of the Council and the European Parliament no. 1177/2003 on Community statistics on income and living conditions. |
