Definition |
Wastewater represents water from domestic, social or economic activities, which contains pollutants or residues that alter its initial physical, chemical and bacteriological characteristics. Wastewater treatment is wastewater subject to treatment by which the discharge characteristics of wastewater comply with the quality conditions provided in the technical regulations and in the water management authorizations in force. The indicator is calculated as a percentage of the total wastewater generated. |

Methodology |
The data are collected through exhaustive statistical survey and is addressed to all units that discharge wastewater (treated or untreated) into natural receivers. The indicator is calculated as a percentage of the total wastewater generated. |
