THW0742 - Target 4 - Environment - SHARE OF RENEWABLE ENERGY IN TOTAL ENERGY CONSUMPTION IN TRANSPORT 
Definition The indicator measures share of energy from renewable sources in the total energy consumption in transport sector, according to Directive 2009/28/EC.

Data sources Eurostat 
Methodology The share of energy from renewable sources in fuel consumption by transport sector is calculated on the basis of energy statistics, in accordance with the methodology described in Directive 2009/28 / EC.
The contribution of all liquid biofuels is included in the calculation for this indicator until 2010.
Starting with 2011, data for liquid biofuels used in the transport sector are limited only to liquid biofuels that comply with Directive 2009/28/EC (only those that meet the sustainability criteria).
