Important!
· Please hold Shift or Ctrl keys while clicking the dimension elements to obtain a multiple selection.
· Use the three buttons below each dimension to ease your selection: Expand, Collapse and Select All
· The measuring units are all selected by default, to prevent empty results when combining uncompatible requests (for example, one may ask for production of corn measured in liters; or a value in ROL after the denomination in 2005). You are free to modify the selection, just be careful. Thank you!
TKA0931 - Target 3 - Environment - OUTPUT AND GROSS VALUE ADDED IN ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGIES
Definition The environmental goods and services sector (environmental industries) aims to identify those transactions in the economy that are directly related to the production and management of goods and services that support environmental protection.
Environmental technologies are (according to the SEEA) technical processes, installations and equipment (goods), and methods or knowledge (services), whose technical nature or purpose is the protection of the environment (preventing or combating pollution (clean technologies)) or resource management. These are split into two categories:
- end-of-pipe technologies which are, in particular, installations and equipment for measuring, controlling, treating and restoring / correcting environmental problems. These installations and equipment operate independently or are identifiable parts added at the end of the production / consumption process;
- integrated technologies are those processes, methods and technical knowledge used in production processes that are less polluting and more resource efficient than their equivalents used by other domestic producers.
Gross value added (GVA) is the contribution of these activities to gross domestic product. It is the difference between the value of production and intermediate consumption.
