TLJ1031 - Target 2 - Environment - Recycling rate of municipal waste 
Definition Recycling rate of municipal waste represents the report between the amount of recycled municipal waste and the amount of municipal waste generated.
Municipal waste includes the following categories of waste: paper, cardboard, plastic, glass, metal, textiles, food waste, waste from parks and gardens.
Construction and demolition waste is excluded.
Municipal waste consists mostly of household waste, but may also include similar waste generated by small businesses and public institutions and collected by the municipality.
The indicator used to monitor progress towards bring Romania closer to the EU average for recycling of municipal waste.
