Definition |
Forest area - represents the totality of land areas covered with forest vegetation, consisting of trees and shrubs, reproduced naturally or artificially, which creates a specific environment of biological development and which constitutes the directly productive component of the forest stock, having an individual area of at least 0,25 ha; trees must reach a minimum height of 5 m at maturity under normal vegetation conditions. The area of the country - consists of arable land, pastures and natural meadows, vineyards and orchards, forests and other land with forest vegetation, constructions, roads and railways, waters and ponds, other surfaces. |

Methodology |
Methodology for carrying out statistical research in forestry, approved by ORDER of the President of NIS no.1810 of 2010. The term forest includes according to the new forestry code: the forests included in the forest management plans on January 1, 1990, as well as those subsequently included in them, under the law; forest protection curtains; juniper; forested pastures with a consistency greater than or equal to 0.4 (the projection of the tree canopy occupies 40% of the area covered by the forest vegetation and the difference of 60% represents empty spaces). |
