Important!
· Please hold Shift or Ctrl keys while clicking the dimension elements to obtain a multiple selection.
· Use the three buttons below each dimension to ease your selection: Expand, Collapse and Select All
· The measuring units are all selected by default, to prevent empty results when combining uncompatible requests (for example, one may ask for production of corn measured in liters; or a value in ROL after the denomination in 2005). You are free to modify the selection, just be careful. Thank you!
TMV1191 - Target 9 - Environment - SHARE OF DANGEROUS GOODS (TKM) IN ROAD AND RAIL TRANSPORT IN TOTAL GOODS PERFORMANCE
Definition The course of the goods represents the performance of the goods transport activity, during the research period.
It is expressed in tonne-km (tkm), a unit of measurement defined as the transport of one tonne of goods over a distance of one km.
Dangerous goods in road transport refer to those categories of goods defined in the regulations on international road transport of dangerous goods, known as ADR, adopted under Directive 2008/68/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council, and dangerous goods in rail transport refers to those categories of goods defined in regulations relating to the international carriage of dangerous goods by rail, generally known as RID, adopted under Council Directive 96/49/EC of 23 July 1996 on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to railway transport of dangerous goods and its subsequent modifications.
Periodicity Annual
Data sources Statistical survey on rail freight transport
Statistical survey on road freight transport
Methodology The indicator is calculated by reporting the performance of dangerous goods in road and rail transport to the total performance of goods in road and rail transport.
The statistical data refer to the goods that, during the reference period, were transported with means of transport specific to the mentioned modes of transport.
Calculation formula for the course of the goods:
TS = sum of i = 1 to n of Ri * Si
TS = the course of the goods, in tkm
Ri = quantity of goods transported simultaneously over the same distance, in tonnes
Si = distance travelled by the respective quantity of goods, in km.
