Definition |
Sludge represents the quantity of solid substances separated from wastewater by different procedures accompanied by a great quantity of water (humidity). Sludge processing is achieved through various procedures for reducing the quantity of contained water in order to recover the useful substances or to improve it for its usage as a fertiliser in agriculture or for other purposes. The indicator represents the share of the sludge used in total sludge resulting from the treatment of wastewater, in agriculture, composted, landfill, incinerated, treated by other processes. |

Methodology |
The data are collected through exhaustive statistical survey and is addressed to all units that discharge wastewater (treated or untreated) into natural receivers. |
