TOR1321 - Target 2 - Environment - Surface protected with anti-hail and precipitation-increasing systems |
Definition |
The surface protected with anti-hail and rainfall systems is an area set to be protected from hail. The national anti-hail and rainfall system is a coherent organizational and functional set, containing technical means and personnel specialized in active intervention actions in the atmosphere. The activity of artificially changing the weather improves the ability to react quickly to extreme weather events of high intensity, agriculture and rural development are very vulnerable to the impact of climate change. |

Methodology |
The indicator reflects the evolution over time of the hail protection infrastructure as a result of the balanced development at regional level of the capacities for active interventions in the atmosphere. It is an indicator of the result, as it refers to the size and evolution over time of the protected area against dangerous weather events associated with climate change. Hail and precipitation increase systems mean "anti-hail rocket launch points" (PL). A PL ensures the differentiated protection of about 23.000 ha. |
