TRI1572 - Target 7 - Environment - The surface of the lands arranged with works of improvement and combating the soil erosion, by categories of land use |
Definition |
The surface arranged to combat soil erosion represents the com-plex of hydrotechnical works performed to reduce or stop the deg-radation of the soil surface by removing its fertile layer under the action of external geographical agents and performing regulariza-tion works to prevent rainwater runoff from slopes to avoid dam-age floods on the lands at the foot of the slope. The intensification of soil erosion leads to a reduction in soil fertil-ity. By applying measures to combat soil erosion, the transition to productive agriculture is accelerated, in parallel with the applica-tion of environmentally friendly agricultural practices. |
