Definition Area expressed in hectares (ha) covered with forests with soil protection role (against erosion or landslides)
In order to delimit the role of areas with forest vegetation, they were divided into functional groups: In forests for the production of wood and forests intended to perform certain protective functions. They include forests with special functions of protection of water, soil, climate and national interest objectives, forests for recreation, forests for the protection of genofond and eco-fund, as well as forests in protected natural areas of national interest.
