Definition |
The railway line is a special construction made up of one or several railways and auxiliary installations, intended for carrying goods and passengers by using rolling stock (it refers to the length of line used for regular traffic). A railway is composed of one or sveral railways (which ensure the continuous movement of the rolling stock between two stations or halts); it can be "under operation" or "under conservation". The length is given by the length of the line between stations. For multiple railway lines, only one line is taken into account. |
