TSG1646 - Target 4 - Social - Victims of domestic violence as recorded by the administrative services, by type of violence 
Definition Number of victims of domestic violence by type of violence has been calculated by summing all persons who suffered any form of domestic violence (physical, psychological, sexual, deprivation/ neglect, economic, social), in the records of the General Directorates of Social Assistance and Child Protection (DGASPC) and was distributed according to the predominant form of violence.

Methodology The data refer to the victims of domestic violence, as defined in Law No. 217/2003 for preventing and combating domestic violence.

In accordance with Art. 3 of the Law No. 217/2003, domestic violence means any inaction or intentional action of physical, sexual, psychological, economic, social, spiritual or cyber violence, which occurs in the family or domestic environment or between spouses or ex-spouses, as well as between current or former partners, whether the perpetrator lives or has lived with the victim.
According to Law no. 217/2003 art. 4 the following definitions apply:
(b) psychological violence - the imposition of personal will or control, the challenge of states of tension and mental suffering in any way and by any means, by verbal or other threat, blackmail, demonstrative violence against objects and animals, ostentatious display of weapons, neglect, control of personal life, acts of jealousy, coercion of any kind, unlawful pursuit, surveillance of the home, workplace or other places frequented by the victim, making telephone calls or other communications by means of remote transmission, which by frequency, content or timing, such as and other actions with similar effect;
(c) physical violence - personal injury or health by hitting, shoving, slamming, pulling hair, stinging, cutting, burning, strangling, biting, in any form and of any intensity, including masked as the result of accidents, by poisoning, intoxication, as well as other actions with similar effect, subject to intense physical effort or activities with a high degree of risk to life or health and bodily integrity, other than those referred to in letter e);
(d) sexual violence - sexual assault, imposition of degrading acts, harassment, intimidation, manipulation, brutality for the maintenance of forced sexual relations, marital rape;
(e) economic violence - prohibition of professional activity, deprivation of economic means, including deprivation of means of primary existence, such as food, medicine, objects of first necessity, action of intentional evading of goods person, prohibition of the right to possess, use and dispose of common goods, unfair control over common goods and resources, refusal to support the family, imposing heavy and harmful work to the detriment of health, including a minor family member, and other actions with a similar effect;
(f) social violence - the imposition of the isolation of the family person, the community and friends, the prohibition of attending the educational institution or work place, prohibition / limitation of professional achievement, the imposition of isolation, including in the family home, deprivation of access to living space, dispossession of identity documents, intentional deprivation of access to information, as well as other actions with similar effect.
In accordance with Art. 8 (6) of the Law No. 217/2003 for the prevention and combating of domestic violence, republished, the National Agency for Equal Opportunities between Women and Men (ANES), as a governmental institution with powers in the field of prevention and combating domestic violence, drawing up the national situation regarding the victims of domestic violence and the aggressors who benefit from the provision of existing social services at the level of each county, as well as regarding the situation of social services for preventing and combating domestic violence.
In this regard, ANES collects and centralizes the database on domestic violence at national level, in accordance with the data extracted from the reports submitted by the General Directorates of Social Assistance and Child Protection (DGASPC), based on the information provided by all institutions and organizations at county level with powers in the field of violence, respectively at the level of Bucharest Municipality sectors.
The situation of victims of violence, by forms of domestic violence refers to the cases registered by each DGASPC during the reference year.
